Synopsis

This chapter discusses the importance of fostering a culture of responsible artificial intelligence (AI) usage through the implementation of co-regulation frameworks. It examines how the integration of soft and hard law mechanisms can shape ethical AI development and use while addressing the challenges associated with the rapid evolution of AI technologies. The analysis emphasizes the need for a balanced approach, where soft law nurtures internal motivations and values, while hard law provides external enforcement to ensure compliance.

The study highlights recent developments such as the EU AI Act and other regulatory instruments in Ukraine aimed at promoting responsible AI practices. It explores key areas requiring legal and ethical considerations, including intellectual property rights, environmental impact, and social equity in the use of AI. By focusing on co-regulation as a collaborative approach among stakeholders, the chapter underscores the role of shared norms and values in ensuring sustainable and ethical AI integration into society.
