Synopsis

The monograph is devoted to the formation of a new legal architecture for digital civilisation, within which the Metaverse, Web 4.0, artificial intelligence, blockchain, decentralised autonomous organisations and digital twins cease to be merely technological phenomena and become a fully developed environment for the emergence of social relations, legal conflicts, rights, obligations and liability.

For the first time, the study proposes an integrated set of original models of digital jurisdiction, digital law, the Digital Code and digital subjects. Digital jurisdiction is substantiated as a post-territorial form of organising legal space, capable of operating within cross-border, decentralised and algorithmically governed ecosystems. Digital law is considered not as a mechanical extension of information law, but as a comprehensive system for regulating relations arising among natural persons, platforms, algorithmic agents, autonomous artificial intelligence systems, digital persons, avatars and other digital subjects.

Particular attention is devoted to the author’s model of the Digital Code — a modular, technologically neutral and adaptive instrument for the systemic regulation of digital ecosystems. The monograph also presents a model Digital Criminal Code and examines the legal nature of digital identity, virtual assets, decentralised autonomous organisations, digital twins, algorithmic liability and automated governance.

The study combines philosophical and legal analysis with applied regulatory constructs and offers a coherent methodology for moving from the fragmented regulation of individual technologies towards the establishment of a new legal order for digital reality.

The publication is intended for scholars, legal professionals, legislators, civil servants, digital policy specialists, experts in artificial intelligence, and students and researchers in higher education.
