Professor Guido Noto La Diega is an award-winning Italy-born, naturalised British legal scholar and Professor of Law, Technology and Innovation at the University of Strathclyde, where he leads the LLM/MSc in Law, Technology, and Innovation. Appointed through the University’s Global Talent Acquisition Programme, he is internationally recognised for his expertise in European, UK, and Italian legal approaches to AI, IoT, cloud computing, robotics, and blockchain.

Author of the open-access book Internet of Things and the Law, his work has been cited by the EU Court of Justice's Advocate General, the UK Parliament, and global institutions. His research—grounded in social justice and sustainability—has been published in leading journals and featured in major media outlets such as Vogue, Sky News, and Wired.

With 14 years of academic experience across Europe and the Americas, he leads the £500k AHRC-DFG project “From Smart Technologies to Smart Laws” and has received funding from AHRC, Horizon Europe, DFG, RSE, and others. He also holds roles with the European Commission, EDPB, UCL, Nexa Center, and Open Rights Group, contributing globally to legal innovation and policy in emerging technologies.
