Plagiarism Statement

Metaverse Science, Society and Law maintains a strict zero-tolerance policy on plagiarism. All manuscripts submitted to the journal must be original, unpublished works that are not under consideration elsewhere.

Definition of Plagiarism

Plagiarism includes, but is not limited to:

  • Reproducing text, figures, tables, or ideas from another source without proper citation.

  • Copying significant portions of another work, even with attribution, without sufficient originality.

  • Submitting the same or substantially similar work to more than one publication outlet (duplicate or redundant publication).

  • Reusing one’s own previously published content (self-plagiarism) without appropriate disclosure and citation.

Screening Process

All submissions are routinely screened using professional plagiarism detection software, iThenticate and Turnitin, to ensure originality. If significant overlap is identified, the manuscript will be immediately rejected or returned to the author for clarification.

Editorial Action in Cases of Plagiarism

  • Minor similarity (e.g., in methodology or references): authors may be asked to revise with proper citations.

  • Moderate to major similarity: the manuscript will be rejected, and a formal notice will be sent to the authors.

  • Post-publication plagiarism: the journal may issue a retraction, correction, or expression of concern in accordance with COPE guidelines.

Responsibility

Authors are fully responsible for the originality of their submissions. By submitting to Metaverse Science, Society and Law, authors affirm that their work is free of plagiarism and that all sources are properly acknowledged.
